Marjorie Post Dye, granddaughter of the late Marjorie Merriweather Post, dies
Marjorie Post Dye of Santa Monica, Calif., died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, according to The New York Times. She was 86.
She was the first granddaughter of the late Marjorie Merriweather Post and niece of Nedenia Marjorie Hutton, better know as actress Dina Merrill.
She was born April 20, 1928, in New York to Thomas Wells Durant and Adelaide Brevoort Close. In 1956, she graduated from the University of Southern California, where she was an All-American swimmer. She became known as one of the greatest open-water swimmers of her time.
She was also involved in thoroughbred horse breeding and racing.
She was married twice, first to Ron Waller, running back for the Los Angeles Rams and second to Peter Dye, who died in 2013. Her life partner of 43 years was Charles Fautz.

In addition to her life partner, she is survived by two sisters, Ellen Charles and Melissa Cantacuzene; four children; and three grandchildren.

American Heiress Found Slain at her Luxury Honduras Spa
Dec. 28, 2013— -- The great-granddaughter of the General Foods Inc. heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post was found stabbed to death in her luxury Honduras spa, law enforcement officials told the Associated Press.
Nedenia Post Dye, 46, was found stabbed in her spa on the resort island of Roatan, Honduras on Dec. 22.
Lenin Roberto Arana, 25, was arrested and charged with Dye's murder, police officials told The Associated Press.
Arana allegedly said he and Dye were romantically involved, but police said Dye was trying to help Arana quit drugs, according to the AP.
"She was a good woman who worked with young people at risk, drug addicts and alcoholics," Roatan police chief Alex Madrid told the AP.

Marjorie Merriweather Post was an American socialite and entrepreneur. Born on March 15, 1887, she was the owner of General Foods Inc. (formerly the Postum Cereal Company) which she inherited after the death of her father.
She built the Mar-a-Lago, an estate currently owned by President Donald Trump and also owned several plush houses. Post was very wealthy and spent most of her fortune on art collection, especially on pre-revolutionary Russian art. Most of her collections are on display at Hillwood, a museum, which was part of her estate.
