Daniel Kuai Kua’ana was born in Kalihi-Uka, O’ahu, on December 21, 1903, and he passed away, at the age of 66, on June 24, 1970 in Bell Gardens, Los Angeles, California. Danny’s sweet tenor & soaring falsetto voice was featured with Dick McIntire & his Harmony Hawaiians, Manny Klein & his Swing-A-Hula’s, Jerry Byrd & his Islanders, and Danny Kua’ana’s Islanders. Danny Kuai Kuaana, Jr. 77 years old of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on August 12, 2024. Danny was born on September 5, 1946, in Los Angles, California to the late Danny K., and Harriet Amelia (Walters) Kuaana, Sr. Danny was an Auto Parts Manager for various companies during his working career. He enjoyed spending time with his family camping, watching football, and NASCAR. Danny will be dearly missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly D. (Andrie) Kuaana, his children, Lisa, Kori, Danielle Kuaana, his stepchildren, Dawn (Lucas) Canatsey, Justin (Jennifer) Spencer, Kara Spencer, his grandchildren, Devin, A J, Mukeilee, Nicholas, Emma, Brystun, Waylon, Winston, his great grandchildren, Zoey, Evelyn, and his sister, Marie Kuaana. To celebrate Danny’s life the family invites you to join them on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 12:30-3:30 pm at the NeighborCare of Chapel Hill,230 Welcome Way Blvd. W., Indianapolis, IN 46214. Description
One of Hawaiian music's great high falsetto stylists, Danny Kua'ana (1903-1970) spent most of his performing career on the American mainland. Born in the Honolulu suburb Kalihi-Uka, Kua'ana learned ukulele and guitar at an early age. After moving to Los Angeles, he joined Dick McIntire's Harmony Hawaiians.
