Diana Muldaur(born19 August1938; age 86) is an actress, best known to Star Trekfansfor her portrayal of Doctor Katherine Pulaskiduring the second seasonof Star Trek: The Next Generation. She appeared in all but two episodes of the season: "The Outrageous Okona" and "Q Who".

Muldaur had previously appeared in two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series ("Return to Tomorrow" and "Is There in Truth No Beauty?"), playing two different characters who also held the title of "Doctor." Muldaur filmed her scenes for "Return to Tomorrow" between Monday 20 November1967 and Tuesday 28 November1967 at Desilu Stage 9 and Stage 10, and her scenes for "Is There in Truth No Beauty?" between Tuesday 16 July1968 and Wednesday 24 July1968 at Stage 9 and Stage 8.

Diana Muldaur is best known for playing Rosalind Shays in L.A. Law. She's also known for her roles in A Year in theLife, McCloud, Star Trek: The Next Generationand Born Free. Apart from her more than eighty (!) TV roles, she's also starred in feature films such as The Other, One MoreTrain to Rob, McQand The Lawyer.

Diana was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1938. She started her career as a Shakespearean actress at McCarter Theatre in Princeton. She then went to Puerto Rico to do winter stock. Back in New York she worked with future L.A. Lawco-star Richard Dysart at the legendary Circle in the Square Theatre. She acted in several Broadway and Off Broadway productions, and also did some guest appearances in a couple of TV shows. In 1965 she starred in the TV series The Secret Stormwhere she met her first husband, actor James Vickery. In 1968, the couple moved to California.

Diana Muldaur (born August 19, 1938) is an American film and television actress.[2] Muldaur's television roles include Rosalind Shays on L.A. Law and Dr. Katherine Pulaski in the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. She appeared in two episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series in the late 1960s, playing different roles (Drs. Miranda Jones and Ann Mulhall). She has been nominated for an Emmy twice, as a supporting actress on L.A. Law in 1990 and 1991.[3]

Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on the Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard, Muldaur started acting in high school and continued on through college, graduating from Sweet Briar College in Virginia in 1960.[4][5] She studied acting under Stella Adler, and made her name on the New York stage.[4][6] She was at one point a board member of the Screen Actors Guild and was the first woman to serve as president of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (1983–1985).[7]
