Bio: Born in Vanier, Ontario, Michel Bénac is a Franco-Ontarian singer-songwriter, known as the leader of the band LGS. In 1991, Michel founded Purple Hive Music Group / LaFab Music. Since 1999, LGS has released 6 albums and Michel has made a name for himself on the French-Canadian music scene. He was nominated for a 2009 JUNO's award and has received 13 Gold Trille awards. Prior to LGS, Michel was the frontman for Michael B and the Power, where he worked with his friend Gilles Godard in Nashville. In addition to music production, Michel hosted the television show RadArt for 3 seasons, Vendredi tout est permis on Radio-Canada and the radio show du retour on Unique FM. He served as vice-president of the APCM for 4 years, was a member of the ANIM board for 2 years and president of the St-Jean Festival in Ottawa. Michel currently serves as 1st Vice President on the Board of the Country Music Association of Ontario (CMAOntario).

LGS standing for Le Groupe Swing is a Canadiannéo-trad band of Franco-Ontarian origins. The band started as Swing before change of name in 2017. The two main members of Swing are Michel Bénac and Jean-Philippe Goulet.

Singer and musician, Michel Bénac, is a Franco-Ontarian and the main singer for Swing. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario and still lives in the same city. Michel’s mother is Louise, his father is Michel Bénac and he also has a brother named Christian Mathurin and a sister Jocelynne Bénac. Michel Benac Jr. was a voice student of Cantor Stephen Chaiet of the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing of America).
