Rajiv Dixit (30 November 1967- 30 November 1910) was an Indian social activist, public speaker, and a promoter of Ayurveda.

EARLY LIFE

He was born on 30 November 1967, Uttar Pradesh, India. His father Radheshyam Dixit was a DTO officer. He received his secondary and higher secondary education from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh. After completing his schooling, he went to Allahabad to obtain his B. Tech Degree from J K Institute, Allahabad. And later he completed his M. Tech Degree from IIT Kanpur. While studying B. Tech, he went to Amsterdam city of Netherland for research.

In 1991, along with his college friends, he started the Azadi Bachao Andolan. The movement against foreign company and forced them to return. Strongly opposed the “Dunkel proposal” that facilitates or supports non-Indian companies to do business in India. And due to the same movement, he also went to Tihar Jail. He took on the biggies like Pepsi and Coca-Cola and proved that all these cold drinks contain harmful ingredients which are very harmful to health.

Rajiv Dixit[a] (30 November 1967 – 30 November 2010) was an Indian social activist who founded the Azadi Bachao Andolan.

His organisation promoted a message of swadeshi-economics that opposed globalisation and neo-liberalism. In alliance with Ramdev, he formed the Bharat Swabhiman Andolan and its political offshoot, which combined the economic message with promotion of yoga and Ayurveda.

Life and career

In 1984, the Bhopal disaster, in which a gas leak from a pesticide plant owned by a multinational corporation resulted in thousands of deaths, led Dixit to question the role of such corporations in the Indian economy. His thinking on the subject was subsequently shaped by Dharampal, a Gandhian historian and thinker.
