Cameron McCormick

Cameron McCormick was born and raised in Pascagoula, Mississippi. After graduating from Pascagoula High School, he earned his B.B.A. from Mississippi College. From there, he enrolled in Mississippi College School of Law to pursue his passion for the law to become a trial attorney. Cameron graduated in the top 20% of his law school class with the honors of cum laude. Cameron received an award for earning the highest grade in the entire class in trial practice and evidence. In law school, his professors marked him as one of the top performing students by making him the recipient of the American Board of Trial Advocates Scholarship.

During law school, Cameron also excelled in extracurricular activities outside the classroom. Embracing Mississippi College School of Law’s nationally recognized advocacy program, he honed his skills by competing in intra-school and inter-school advocacy competitions in all three years. His focus on advocacy earned him champion in a regional American Bar Association Arbitration Competition and runner-up at the National Competition. C

Cameron McCormick has built an extensive career in golf coaching, leveraging his deep understanding of the sport's biomechanics, motor learning, and psychology. His expertise has established him internationally as a highly regarded coach for competitive players across various levels.

He began coaching 3-time Major Champion and multiple PGA Tour winner Jordan Spieth at the age of 12, a relationship that has notably contributed to Spieth's stellar career. McCormick's coaching roster extends beyond Spieth, including LPGA standout So Yeon Ryu and over 20 players from the PGA, Champions, Web.com, and LPGA Tours, as well as four USGA Junior Amateur champions in the past decade.

As the founder of Altus Performance and the Director of Instruction at the Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, McCormick continues to influence the golf industry. Meet Cameron McCormick, the man who shaped Jordan Spieth's swing

Cameron McCormick has been Jordan Spieth’s swing coach for 10 years by preaching practice to obtain results. It’s obviously working.

Cameron McCormick knows the date. Not because it’s another fact stored in his encyclopedic brain, but because he’s been asked about it so many times. That was the date the Australian instructor gave his first lesson to the 12-year-old wunderkind from Dallas.

It was the date he met Jordan Spieth.

“I speak about it on a fairly regular basis,” McCormick said. “(It) was the date my life changed, I guess.”

Their relationship has lasted a decade. Spieth has won two majors and a FedExCup. McCormick was recognized as last year’s PGA of America Teacher of the Year.

This week’s AT&T Byron Nelson is Spieth’s hometown event, the tournament where many people heard his name for the first time. He was just 16 years old when he contended in the final round in 2010; he finished 16th, six shots behind winner Jason Day.
