“All grit and no quit.” These are the deeply rooted words that Josh Ward lives by to an absolute fault. An anchored mindset that has led this country music artist from a drifter’s adolescence to the jeopardous game of the rodeo circuit to the punishing toil of the Texas oil fields, and into the fickle arms of the music business.

Josh Ward’s debut album, Promises, released in 2011, marked the beginning of his journey in the country music scene. Over the years, he has released several albums, including Holding Me Together and More Than I Deserve, each showcasing his distinctive sound and lyrical storytelling. Josh was added to the Live at Billy Bob’s Texas family with the release of his live album from the world’s largest honky-tonk in 2019.

The highly anticipated new album, Same Ol’ Cowboy, Different Rodeo, marks a new chapter for Josh. After a year of highs and lows and a few unexpected turns, Josh is ready to look forward. Josh said, “I’m not a boastful guy, but this new record is something special. I am really proud of this one!”

Band Team Bio: Josh Ward is a Performer. His early years found him playing electric bass in several terrible rock bands, and jamming traditional music with his family. He later went on to study double bass at Memorial University of Newfoundland, and was fortunate to get tons of opportunities on stage and in studios, churches, barns, etc. Today you can still find him on stage, in studios, churches, barns, etc., and still with a smile on his face.

Creative & Production Team Bio: Josh Ward doesn’t know very much about musical theatre. He has spent the past twenty something years playing in varieties of ensembles though, and in as many different genres as he could get away with. Through all those hours and hours and hours of rehearsals and gigs, he developed a taste for orchestrating and arranging music for groups, and was blessed with many opportunities to try it out in most every style of music. Oh, and he loves a good mash-up.

While impressive, all those distinctions can come and go in the world of music. The reason for his staying power turns out to be quite a simple one.
