Eliyahu Goldratt (1947 – 2011) was a lecturer, researcher, scientist and a business management guru. Eliyahu Goldratt became famous with his ground breaking Theory of Constraints (TOC) within management systems, the Drum Buffer Rope method and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM).
Eliyahu Goldratt biography
His scientific background began when Eliyahu Goldratt obtained a BSc. Degree from the University of Tel Aviv. Then he obtained his MSc. and his doctorate (Ph.D.) from Bar-Ilan University in Israel.
After a short academic career and a few practical researches, dr. Eliyahu Goldratt joined an organization called “Creative Output”. This organization sold capacity and software packages and he soon noticed that there were always factors that hindered implementations.
Solid field research and a pragmatic approach to overcome those hindrances led to the book The Goal (1984). This book was later published by North River Press and it immediately became a best seller. Eliyahu

Eliyahu M. Goldratt
Israeli business management guru (1947–2011)
Eliyahu Moshe Goldratt (March 31, 1947 – June 11, 2011) was an Israeli business management guru.[1][2] He was the originator of the Optimized Production Technique, the Theory of Constraints (TOC), the Thinking Processes, Drum-Buffer-Rope, Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) and other TOC derived tools.
He was the author of several business novels and non-fiction works, mainly on the application of the theory of constraints to various manufacturing, engineering, and other business processes.
The processes are typically modeled as resource flows, the constraints typically represent limits on flows. In his book The Goal, the protagonist is a manager in charge of a troubled manufacturing operation. At any point in time, one particular constraint (such as inadequate capacity at a machine tool) limits total system throughput, and when the constraint is resolved, another constraint becomes the critical one. The plot of Goldratt's stories revolve around identifying the current limiting co

Early Life & Achievements
Eliyahu M Goldratt, born on March 31, 1947, was an Israeli physicist who was later associated with major global corporations as a consultant and advisor. He is known to have devised interesting concepts like Optimized Production Technology (OPT), the Theory of Constraints (TOC), the Thinking Processes, Drum-Buffer-Rope, and Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM).
He graduated with a bachelor degree in science from Tel Aviv University and completed his Masters in Science as well as his doctorate from Bar-Ilan University. Dr. Eliyahu M. Goldratt was the founder of Creative Output, a company which developed the Optimized Production Technology (OPT). It was the first software providing finite capacity scheduling for production environments.
He has written a series of popular books including The Goal’. He launched the Goldratt Satellite Program, a series of lectures and programs recorded online on various disciplines of management. Later Dr. Goldratt and his son Rami Goldratt together created TOC
