Sarah, Duchess of York (born Sarah Margaret Ferguson; 15 October 1959), also known by the nickname Fergie, is a British author, philanthropist, television personality, and member of the extended British royal family. She is the former wife of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who is the second son of Queen Elizabeth II and a younger brother of King Charles III.

Ferguson was raised in Dummer, Hampshire, and attended the Queen's Secretarial College. She later worked for public relations firms in London, and then for a publishing company. She began a relationship with Andrew in 1985, and they were married on 23 July 1986 at Westminster Abbey. They have two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. Their marriage, separation in 1992, and divorce in 1996 attracted much media coverage.

Football legend Sir Alex Ferguson has netted £1million from sales of his book after it smashed a string of records.

The former Manchester United manager’s life story Alex Ferguson: My Autobiography is Britain’s fastest-selling non-fiction title.

It sold more than 115,000 copies in its first week on sale in October, beating previous record holder Delia Smith.

She sold 112,000 copies of a cook book in a week in 1999.

By the end of 2013, 803,084 copies of Fergie’s book were sold, making it the top-selling print book of the year, ahead of the Dan Brown novel Inferno.

Gross sales of the £25 book are estimated by industry insiders to be worth more than £10million.

A standard ten per cent author’s cut would mean the Scot has pulled in at least £1million.

His book documents fall-outs with players Roy Keane and David Beckham and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
